Chesapeake Farm to Institution Work Group
The Chesapeake Farm to Institution Work Group (FTI) is a collaborative effort between the Chesapeake Foodshed Network, Health Care Without Harm and Grow With the Flow, LLC. Stakeholders representing Farm to Institution initiatives across the region focus on regional challenges & solutions.
Purpose: To facilitate learning, connection, and action that supports farm to institution education, action and efforts in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
Come to the table! All are welcome!

Connect with the FTI Work Group at quarterly meetings & identify alignment across the region. The FTI Work Group uses Zoom video conferencing to facilitates virtual face-to-face meetings across the Chesapeake Bay watershed. If you have a video camera on your computer, you are encouraged to try joining by video. It’s new for most of us! You are also welcome to join by computer audio or phone.
Act with the FTI Work group as participants agree on regional needs & priorities around farm to institution. The Work Group leverages participant interests, experience, & connections to bring in topical experts, host educational webinars, & work toward further collective action.
Kristen is the Mid-Atlantic Regional Coordinator for the Healthy Food in Health Care program of Health Care Without Harm. She provides resources and peer to peer sharing opportunities throughout the Mid-Atlantic States for facilities in the health care sector who are interested in supporting regional, equitable, and sustainable food systems. For eleven years, she was the National Farm to Institution Program Manager for the Community Food Security Coalition. She is a former vegetable farmer and has a deep understanding of the challenges of managing a successful farm operation.
Patti Miller is a food systems consultant working in central Appalachia to chart a new path for West Virginia’s food economy. She uses her skills and experience in finance, real estate, restaurant ownership and management, advocacy, and group facilitation to help communities around the region communicate, share knowledge, access resources, and succeed. For more than a decade, Patti has developed valuable relationships with farmers, institutions, civic organizations, non-profits, and others as agitator, instigator, volunteer, advocate, and facilitator.
